Our Story

An old soul filled with wild passion <3

LostCulture opened its doors through Etsy in May of 2013 but my long time love affair with creating began years before that. I was taught at a very young age to crochet & sew buy my Auntie and ever since then I have been completely enamored with all things artistic. Crochet and sewing have however have been by far my favorite. I began with doll clothes then moved on to make up bags, purses and later on down the line bigger pieces like clothing and blankets. When my Auntie passed I tried to hold onto everything that she left behind ... needles, yarn, incomplete projects but most importantly her knowledge and passion for creating.

As I got older it became harder and harder to keep up with my craft in everyday life so I made a decision, I was going to do what I love, fight for what I believe and and go against the grain. I didn't want to get sucked into the craziness of the world, I wanted to bring back the things in my life that had meaning to me. In 2013 I quit my day jobs and I decided to try to live on less & see where my talents could take me and in February of 2015 I opened up my own shop. Blood, sweat, tears and many sleepless nights- it has been truly amazing and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have been able to have one on one communication with my customers and many have become friends. I feel peaceful and it makes my heart so happy to have a business where I can connect with people and share a piece of me with them through the work I create uniquely for each girl.

I feel grateful that I can be valued for my mind and talents & I hope that I can inspire others to do the same. Live the life you want to live, be the person you want to be, respect and value yourself, remember the things that are important in life, think, feel, be silly, be free, be passionate, don't let yourself and your beliefs slide through the cracks because everyone else has, really put heart into all that you do. Even though we live in this lost culture it is never too late to take a stand and really find yourself and just be you, whoever that may be.

This is for you Auntie Caroline, you are always in my heart. I love you <3
